Hello world!

My Love

I started this blog because I want to share my favorite pictures with everyone and talk about how I found photography, the best photography products I have found, awesome photographers I’ve met along the way and then some day-to-day happenings that amuse me! My pictures are mostly of Camden, my soon to be 1-year-old son, and my family. (Please check for the “read more” in some of my posts – located lower right hand corner of post)

When I started taking pictures with my point and shoot camera it just wasn’t doing it for me. I wanted more from my pictures! I wanted to captures every moment of my son’s life to cherish forever. So I contacted the friendly photographer who took my maternity pictures and picked her brain! Her name is Andrea Spence. I have her link posted to my blog. Please check out her work. She guided me down the road of photography and gave me her personal opinion on cameras, lenses and Photoshop.

So what did I do? First I purchased Canon Rebel and then I traded it for Canon 1D and then I traded that for a Canon 60D. I just couldn’t make up my mind. I liked them all for different reasons. My least favorite was the Canon 1D. It was the largest, heaviest and had the least mega pixels. I am completely satisfied with my Canon 60D. It’s smaller, lighter and takes amazing pictures. I purchased several lenses 35mm 2.0, 50mm 1.8 & 100/2.8 macro. I love them all and carry them with me all the time. And what do I carry them in?! My Lola bag from Epiphanie! http://www.epiphaniebags.com/ Again their link is posted on my page. These bags are absolutely amazing! I carry all 3 of my lenses, my camera, my charger, filters and memory cards with ease…and then there’s always diapers, baby wipes, sippy cups and toys in the mix as well! What more could a mom ask for? A bag that does it all!

After I take my pictures I sit on my couch for what I like to call “play time”. I have no idea how to use Photoshop on my own so I rely on Paint The Moon Actions http://paintthemoon.net/ and Textures! Check them out! I’m telling you they are a life saver! I use them in Photoshop CS4 but Annie Manning also makes them for Elements as well. Wait until you see how talented she is. She will just blow you away!

Since I am just getting started I don’t want overwhelm you with information! I will create separate posts dedicated to my favorite things previously mentioned.

So check out my pictures! I am still learning so please be kind. Ha! I am also on Flickr!
